Areometer

Aräometer - analog measuring instruments for density and measure of solutes in beer wort and beer

Hydrometers

(hydro meter, Areometer) Hydrometers are analog precision instruments for measuring density of liquids or the concentration of dissolved substances in the form of a submersible spindle. They work according to Archimedes' principle.

The density of information is often expressed in g / cm ³ (g / ml) or kg / m³. The concentration is expressed in percentage (vol%) or mass percentage (wt%). The fault with "verifiable" marked hydrometers is within the maximum permissible error and is usually ± 1 division.

According to Archimedes' principle, a body when immersed in a fluid loses as much weight force as the volume of fluid displaced by it weighs. or a body in a fluid loses as much weight as the amount of fluid weight, which he pushed through its volume. This principle is implemented in the metrological hydrometer.

The degree Plato is the unity of the Original Gravity. A condiment with n degrees Plato, by definition, the same specific gravity as an aqueous sucrose solution with n per cent by weight of sucrose. The abbreviation for the unit is ° P.

Sucrose solution is it's only the comparator, the fluid must be examined do not contain sucrose.
